SARS-COV-2 Rapid Antigen Test
SARS-COV-2 Rapid Antigen Test
A reliable, rapid chromatographic immunoassay for the qualitative detection of SARS-CoV-2 specific antigen in human nasopharynx.
A brief overview of the benefits of the SARS-CoV-2 rapid antigen test:
- Test result in 15 minutes
- Simple handling without additional analysis system
- Sample material: nasopharynx
- A testing option where a laboratory test is not available
- The test is intended for professional use.
Roche's rapid SARS-CoV-2 antigen test detects proteins that are structural or functional components of the pathogen and is therefore highly specific to that pathogen. In this case, the test will provide a qualitative yes/no answer regarding the presence of the pathogen in a patient's sample. If the target antigen is present in the sample at sufficient concentration, it will bind to specific antibodies and generate a visually detectable signal on the test strip. Results are typically available within 15–30 minutes.
The test has a high sensitivity of 96.52% and specificity of 99.68%.
Usage diagram
Usage diagram:
- Take a swab from your nasopharynx.
- Dissolve the sample in the extraction buffer. Swirl the sample in the extraction buffer at least 5 times. The test strip can then be removed again.
- Application of the dissolved sample. Three drops of the sample to be analyzed are applied to the intended reagent carrier.
- Result. Results can be obtained in 15-30 minutes.
- To confirm the result, a control line "C" must be formed. The result is positive as soon as the "T" line changes color. It is negative if no line forms on the test line.
Package size
The kit includes the following components:
- 25 test strips (individually in a foil pouch with desiccant)
- 25 containers with extraction buffer
- 25 dispenser cap
- 25 sterile swabs
- Foil (can be attached to the test strip during outdoor testing)
- 1 instruction.
The test has a high sensitivity of 96.52% and specificity of 99.68%.
